AFRICA JAMBOREE 2012

AFRICA JAMBOREE 2012
25   -   31   LUGLIO
WINNEBA  -  GHANA
Organizzato dalla WFIS-AFRICA

THE VISION...

To create a unique scout jamboree bringing at least 15.000 scouts from 25+ countries to Africa, giving them a once in a lifetime experience.

WHY GHANA?

I have no doubt, that Ghana is the best country to represent Africa and to give people, who travel to Africa for the first time, a good impressions of the many treasures of Africa; the nature, the animals, the castles, the traditions and a very gentle and open minded population, always curious to hear about the visitors story and to let the visitor meet his family and friends.

In Ghana it is easy for a visitor to feel “at home” and I am sure that the youth coming will feel it the same was.

Furthermore, as a scout, it is very interesting to know that Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the scout movement, came to Cape Coast Castle in 1896. He went to the Ashanti capital, where he saw the left handshake, which he later adopted for scouting.

Now a days, there are 28 million scouts all over the world, who greet each other by left handshake.

Welcome to Ghana – AKWABA
